Basic Pancake Recipe
Ingredients: (serves 4)
- 1 3/4 cup self raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup of milk – add more or less as required.
Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl, then combine all ingredients, adding milk gradually until a thick batter consistency is achieved. Set batter aside ideally for 30 minutes.
Pour blobs of batter into a heated greased pan until bubbly, flip, and cook until browned on both sides.
Serve with spreads, syrup, fresh fruit, cream, ice-cream and/or butter.
