Best Prams Australia 2021
Best Single to Double Prams
Uppababy Vista V2
I would confidently say that the Uppababy Vista V2 is the most popular pram in Australia right now, and it is easy to see why.
It is aesthetically a beautiful pram, made from quality materials, and just one of the simplest and easiest prams to use. It has some small, but thoughtful features that makes it one of the most straight forward prams to use. For example the button to release the bassinet from the frame is on the handle at the top – which is exactly where it should be, and yet not a common feature.
The whole pram is like that; everything about it is just sleep-deprived-new-parent-friendly. It’s easy to fold, has a one handed recline in the seat, easy to adjust shoulder strap height, tap to engage/release foot brake, extendable sun canopy, huge storage basket – it’s all the things we love in a pram.
When you purchase the Uppababy Vista V2 it comes with the bassinet and the toddler seat, so you’re ready to go from birth through to toddlerhood. Then if and when you have another baby all you need to do to turn your Vista into a double pram is purchase the upper and lower adapters and you can connect both seats to the frame.

Babybee Prams Duo
Babybee Prams is an Australian owned brand, based in Melbourne and I have had the pleasure of meeting their team a few times – and they don’t just have great prams, like the Babybee Duo2 but they are absolutely lovely people as well.
When you buy the Babybee Duo2 you can choose it as a single or a double, and one thing I love is when choosing the double option you can select whether you want two seats, or a seat and a bassinet. I think that’s great, because not everyone wants or needs a bassinet. Perhaps you’re buying a second pram and your babies are already over 6 months old – or you’re planning to use a capsule instead of a bassinet.
The Babybee Duo2 offers a lot of very useful and usable configurations, whether you’re using seats, bassinets, capsules, or a combination of any two.
It also comes with a lot of included accessories – belly bars, rain covers, UV covers, pram liners, and a parent organiser. So they’re great value for money.
Babybee Duo2 Specifications

- Weight Capacity – 20 kgs each seat, 9 kgs bassinet
- Dimensions Folded – 99cms x 60cms x 52cms

Baby Jogger City Select Lux
The Baby Jogger City Select Lux has one of the most compact folds of a full sized double prams on the market. The reason for this is both seats fold in half, making them super compact. Because one of the main challenges with a full sized tandem double pram is testrising the frame, and two seats into your car boot. Whereas the City Select Lux folds very flat and the seats nest into the frame very neatly.
Although that’s not to say that the City Select Lux is a lightweight stroller – it is an absolute beast. Which I personally love in a pram. I love a heavy, robust, all terrain, full sized pram, especially if I need to push two children (and all their stuff). The City Select Lux has big wheels, all-wheel suspension, big basket, two good sized seats with a weight capacity of 20kgs each, and a tough frame. In fact Baby Jogger City Select Lux comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame, because it is practically indestructible.
However, all those features add weight to the pram. So as much as I personally adore this pram, the first thing I recommend people do if they’re looking at the City Select Lux, before they get too excited about the features, is fold it and pick it up.
On the plus side, in terms of configurations and life cycles, the Baby Jogger City Select Lux offers quite a few very practical options as a double pram. Although, like most in line double prams, you can’t have the bassinet close to you and the toddler facing forward. However you can make that configuration work using a car capsule instead – baby facing you, toddler facing forward – and then you have a few different options of how to progress once Baby outgrows their capsule.
Baby Jogger City Select Lux Specifications
- Pram Weight – 16.5kgs (with both seats)
- Weight Capacity – 20kgs main seat and 20kgs second seat
- Dimensions –H 87-111cm x W 60cm x L 97cm
- Dimensions Folded – H 30cm x W 60cm x L 82cm
- Suitable from birth – Yes, with a bassinet or infant car capsule

Best Single Prams
Joolz Day +
The Joolz Day + is a gorgeous, luxury, full sized, full featured pram. The Joolz Day + is the most recent upgrade on the previous Day 3 – so it is the 4th generation of this popular high end pram.
The Day + comes with a seat and bassinet fabric, so you’re ready to go from birth through to toddlerhood. It doesn’t have the option for a second seat, but Joolz does offer a well integrated and exceptionally sturdy standing toddler board as an option for accommodating your second child.
The upgrades with the new Day + include a one handed recline, an easier fold mechanism, more accessibility to the basket, and also a light feature on the front and back of the frame for visibility in low light.
Other big features with all Joolz prams are their Lifetime Warranty, eco-friendly recycled materials and the super cute concept of a “Birth Forest” – for every stroller registered for the Lifetime Warranty Joolz will plant a tree to help fight deforestation.

Edwards and Co Oscar Mx
The Edwards and Co Oscar Mx is one of only a couple of prams that have three wheels and offer the option of a reversible seat. So if you’re looking for a three wheel pram for the sporty all-terrain agility, but don’t want to compromise on being able to have your baby or toddler face you, then you should definitely take a look at the Edwards and Co Oscar Mx.
The Edwards and Co Mx is also great value for money, when you consider it is a fully sized, full featured pram that is suitable from birth, has a weight capacity of 20kgs, that is easy to fold, has an adjustable handlebar and leg rest, extendable canopy, absolutely huge basket, quality wheels and excellent suspension.
This stroller will handle all kinds of suburban terrain – grass, play grounds mulch, gravel, as well as a little bit of off-roading – while also being compact and agile enough to maneuver around a shopping centre or busy footpaths.
The Edwards and Co Oscar Mx is for active parents who want it all, but are also looking for excellent value for money.
Edwards and Co Oscar Mx Specifications
- Pram Weight – 11.6kgs
- Weight Capacity – 22
- Dimensions Folded – 37 x 65 x 77 cm
- Suitable from birth – Yes, with infant insert included (bassinet optional)

Baby Jogger City Mini GT2
The Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 is the perfect pram for parents who are looking for a simple, reliable, easy to use, practical pram that just does what it’s supposed to do. Especially if “easy to fold” is at the top of your pram wish list. Because nothing folds quite as easily as a Baby Jogger pram.
It also ticks so many boxes – the seat is suitable for newborns so you don’t need anything else to use your pram from birth. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 has a huge weight capacity of 29.5kgs, and a very tall and roomy seat to match. You really can reasonably expect to use this pram from birth to preschool aged or beyond.
The Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 comes with capsule adapters for the City Go capsule (which I have reviewed separately here), you can also purchase Maxi Cosi capsule adapters, or a bassinet separately if you choose.
It also has a huge canopy with two height positions, two peekaboo windows and a huge mesh panel on the back to allow airflow and keep an eye on your little one, an adjustable handlebar, extendable leg rest, large basket, excellent suspension and quality wheels, and overall is just a well made and reliable pram.
The only thing to be mindful of with the City Mini GT2 is it doesn’t offer a parent facing seat – unless you use a bassinet or capsule. And I know this is one feature that is very important to some parents.
Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 Specifications
- Pram Weight – 9.7kgs
- Weight Capacity – 29.5
- Pram Dimensions – 104cm x 65cm x 108cm
- Dimensions Folded – 33cm x 65cm x 82cm
- Suitable from birth – Yes
- Reversible seat – No
- Fold with seat attached – Yes
- Travel system compatible – Yes – with adapters included
Steelcraft Strider Mini
The Steelcraft Strider Mini is an affordable, versatile, user friendly and light weight full sized stroller – weighing just 10.3kgs.
The Steelcraft Strider Mini seat is suitable for newborns, however you can also purchase a bassinet if you prefer. Also the Britax Unity capsule connected directly to the frame without the need for adapters – so that is a great feature! Not only do you not have to purchase the adapter, it’s one less thing to have (and possibly misplace!)
For me, the main thing I like about the Steelcraft Strider Mini is the price point. I think it’s a great option for budget conscious parents, looking for a pram that will get them through from birth, well into toddlerhood, that just does what they need it to do. It’s definitely not an all terrain pram – it’s designed for footpaths, shopping centres, and other flat surfaces. It is also an inexpensive pram, which is reflected in the fabrics and finishes. However, it still looks quite smart and stylish.
Steelcraft Strider Mini Specifications
- Pram Weight – 10.3kgs
- Weight Capacity – 22kgs
- Dimensions – H 115cm x W: 60cm x L: 87cm
- Dimensions Folded – H 42cm x W: 60cm x L: 81cm

Best Travel Prams
Joolz Aer
I have to admit I wasn’t entirely sold on the Joolz Aer straight away – however it’s now one of my favourite travel strollers. My initial hesitation with the Joolz Aer is the recline is a little unusual and fiddly; there’s a panel at the back that needs to be zipped out, then a strap to recline it further. It’s also not a fully flat recline, so the seat is suitable from 6 months onward. Though you can make the Joolz Aer suitable for a newborn by turning it into a travel system with capsule and adapters (sold separately).
What I love about the Joolz Aer is it weighs a teeny tiny 6kgs and has a super easy one handed fold. It has a standing fold, and carry-strap, so it’s comfortable for folding and lifting on the go. The Joolz Aer also has one of the biggest seats on the market. It’s the widest, deepest and tallest seat for a travel pram.
Personally I found the Joolz Aer the best travel stroller to push. It feels very substantial and solid, despite the incredibly low weight. Also it just has a refined style and quality you don’t see in travel prams.
Also – and it’s a small feature, however very usable for those busy moments on a move – the 5 point harness buckle is extremely easy to buckle up. Which is one thing a lot of travel strollers don’t offer.
Joolz Aer Specifications
- Suitable for newborns – Yes, with Maxi Cosi capsule (sold separately)
- Weight capacity – 18kgs
- Pram weight – 6kgs
- Folded dimensions – 53 x 45 x 21cms
- Carry Bag Included – Yes (and quite a substantial bag too)
- Travel system compatible – Yes.
Baby Jogger Tour 2
I know I show blatant favouritism for Baby Jogger as a brand in all my “best pram lists”– and this recommendation is no exception. The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is my personal favourite travel stroller. I love it because it does everything you need from a travel stroller as well as being a perfect lightweight everyday stroller! You can read my full written review of the Baby Jogger City Tour 2.
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is suitable from birth without needing extra accessories (though it has the option of adding a car capsule or bassinet, which are sold separately). It has a very tall seat (I was able to fit my tall six year old into the City Tour) and a high weight limit to match. It also offers a good sized adjustable footrest which is a feature you don’t often see on these super light travel strollers. Lastly, I do love the super easy one handed fold. It wouldn’t be a Baby Jogger without an incredibly easy fold.
Overall I think it’s a very practical, sturdy and easy to use compact pram that would be perfect not just for travel, but everyday use as well.
Baby Jogger Tour 2 Specifications
- Suitable for newborns – Yes
- Weight capacity – 22kgs
- Pram weight – 5.6kgs
- Folded dimensions – 56 x 43.5 x 18cm
- Carry Bag Included – Yes
- Travel system compatible – Yes
Babyzen Yoyo 2
The Babyzen Yoyo has been the most popular travel stroller, and compact everyday pram, for so many parents. I would say that the Babyzen Yoyo 2 isn’t exactly a completely new pram, but more a refinement of the previous model. Overall the Babyzen Yoyo is incredibly light and compact, easy to push, comfortable little stroller that offers parents a huge range of colours and accessories to customise their stroller just the way they like it. The fold does take some practice, but it’s quick and easy when you get the hang of it. It’s easy to see why the Babyzen Yoyo + has been such a popular brand.
Babyzen Yoyo + VS 2020 Babyzen Yoyo 2:
Babyzen Yoyo 2 has a leatherette handlebar, which does feel a lot nicer than the foam handlebar on the previous models.
The buckle on the 5 point harness of the Babyzen Yoyo 2 now completely comes apart – which will make safety conscious parents happier. However it will be a little trickier to buckle up a squirming toddler than the previous model.
Also the suspension has been improved on the Babyzen Yoyo 2 for a smoother ride.
Babyzen Yoyo 2 Specifications
- Suitable for newborns – Yes, with a newborn nest or capsule adapters sold separately.
- Weight capacity – 22kgs
- Pram weight – 6.2kg
- Folded dimensions – 52 x 44 x 18 cm
- Carry Bag Included – Yes
- Travel system compatible – Yes
