To my big school boy

How was your day?
Who did you play with?
Did you like your lunch?
Did you eat all your sandwich?

Do you listen to teachers?
Did you get into trouble?
What’s that scratch from?
Did you trip and stumble?

Did you ever feel sad?
Do you know that I missed you?
Are the other kids friendly?
And are teachers nice to you?

Did you get lost?
Do you know where to be?
Did you read lots of books?
Tell me, what did you see?

Did you do any craft?
Was there music today?
Did you learn any songs?
Or new games to play?

Are the bigger kids nice?
Do they push you around?
Did you play in the sandpit?
Or on the playground?

Nobody tells me,
If you had a good time.
Do they know you’re precious?
Do they know that you’re mine?

I’m glad that you’re growing
That you’re going to school,
I know that you’re clever.
And always so cool.

So I won’t ask you these things,
I won’t make you say,
Instead all I’ll ask is;
How was your day?

I know he will love it. 🙂
I am actually really excited. I am not sad at all. I won’t cry I don’t think. But I will be taking a tonne of photos. It’s going to be amazing.
I have been counting down all holiday. Bring on Friday!
