Nathalie Zip Nursing Dress By Queen Bee Review
I was recently sent this Floressa – Nathalie Zip Nursing Dress by Queen Bee to review – I have not been paid for my opinion.
This is possibly one of the most versatile dresses I’ve ever owned. I wish I’d had it when I first had my babies – or while I was pregnant – because I can see how incredibly useful this dress would be to go from maternity, nursing and even a bit of fun. It’s a basic little black dress, with a gold zipper detail and it dresses up and right down really simply. You could wear this dress just having a couch day with your new baby, throw it on to look smart for the school run, or even pair it with some heels and wear it for a night on the town.
Comfort
It’s comfortable. SO comfortable. It feels like a t-shirt nightie comfortable. The cotton jersey knit is so soft. It is a lighter fabric than I’d imagined, so it’s a good Autumn or Spring weight and would be good for layering in cooler weather.
Flattering
It’s very similar to a couple of dresses I wore ALL THE TIME after having my son, because it clings and drapes in just the right way for a “new mum” body. Also the pockets are cleverly positioned, because they sit right on my “baby bump”, not a pregnant baby bump, but the permanent one left by growing my beautiful babies. Also I love the mid-length sleeves.
Maternity
It is quite a generous fit – I chose a medium and I’m usually around a size 12 and I find the fit loose without being baggy. It is VERY stretchy, so I imagine it would accommodate a growing pregnant belly though it’s not advertised as a maternity dress I think it would be stunning with a bump and kind of wish I had a bump to wear it with (though, then there’s the whole pregnancy, birth and baby I’m not so keen on – just to wear a maternity dress – probably not worth it.)
Nursing and Pumping
On to the nursing component of the dress, one thing I love about this is that you really can easily take both breasts completely out of this dress – it’s something I’ve struggled in with other nursing style clothing is feeling like it was just too restrictive, so latching was a real challenge. Once your child is latched on the internal panel can drape down to cover your breast – or leave it up out of the way. The great thing is you can show as much, or as little, as you feel comfortable. It works much the same for pumping, as you can see in this picture you can attach a breast pump and keep your chest completely covered – it would also work for a double pump – so it could be really handy for expressing at work or in public.
Final thoughts
Can I just say again how comfortable this dress is?!? From the moment I put it on I didn’t want to take it off, I could live in it. It’s a really simple dress and feels really lovely on. If this isn’t your style Queen Bee have a great range of maternity and nursing fashion – a number of friends have also spoken very highly of the quality of their clothing.
