The BIG Latch on 2013

“The Big Latch on” will be held at hundreds of sites around the world, with mother’s breastfeeding for one minute. Each year the numbers of all breastfeeding mothers who attend are added up and compared to previous years and the world record.

The current world record is 9,826 breastfeeding mothers, at 325 sites, in 16 countries – set in October 2010. The record for one location at one time is 3,738 breastfeeding mothers set in 2006, in the Philippines.

The event takes place over two days, Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd of August, at 10:30am, depending on the hosts of your local event, it could be held on either or both days.

There will be 12 registered locations in Australia and can be found on HERE .

It’s held to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week , which is August 1st – 7th .

So if you can, get on to an event, get involved, it should be a great day. I will attending and participating and if you attend an event we’d love to hear how it went at your event, you can email us at ShareYourStory@ParentingCentral.com.au or tag us on Facebook.

When Mothers Regret Motherhood

The Project recently aired a segment about mothers regretting becoming mums. Which has naturally a divisive topic. But I think it’s an important topic to allow people to talk about.
