Uppababy Vista V2 vs Uppababy Cruz V2
Uppababy Vista vs. Uppababy Cruz: Which Stroller is Right for You?
UPPAbaby is a well-known brand for producing high-quality strollers, and the Vista and Cruz models are two of their most popular options. While they visually are very similar and they both offer exceptional features and design, they cater to different family needs.
The key difference of course being that the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a single-to-double convertible and the UPPAbaby Cruz is a single pram only.

How to choose between them?
The UPPPAbaby Vista V2 is one of the most – if not THE most – popular pram in Australia and has been for a long time now. And it’s easy to see why so many parents choose the UPPAbaby Vista V2 over the Cruz V2.
In fact, personally I think UPPAbaby made a mistake with the updates to the UPPAbaby Cruz in 2020, which essentially make the Cruz a SLIGHTLY smaller version of the UPPAbaby Vista, rather than having a clear differentiation between the two. The 2019 UPPAbaby Cruz weighed 9.7kgs (compared to the current UPPAbaby Cruz V2 is 11.3kgs) and while the Cruz did have a smaller seat, basically no suspension and a smaller basket – at least it was offering a strong point of difference.
So who is the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 for?
It’s for parents who want an UPPAbaby Vista but also want to stick to the “under $1000” price point.
Ignoring the RRP of $1499 (because the Australian pram market is pretty tensely competitive so the RRP is very quickly stripped apart by the retailers. Which is a blessing and a curse for Australian customers – lower prices yes – but fewer options to shop as independent baby retailers close their doors)
But I digressed. Back to ignoring the $1499 RRP – the UPPababy Cruz V2 sells pretty consistently at $999 across most retailers and will come with the “Snug seat” included for free.
The Snug Seat is used in lieu of the bassinet, part of what makes it a more affordable option.
Whereas the UPPAbaby Vista V2 – with its eye watering RRP of $2199 – sells around the $1699 price point. Making it about 70% higher in price when compared to the UPPAbaby Vista.
Although the UPPAbaby Vista V2 comes with a full sized bassinet included – and again due to the competitiveness of the Australian market – retailers will often include a collection of free accessories with the UPPAbaby Vista V2 to woo customers.
Who is the UPPAbaby Vista V2 for?
Anyone who wants one and can afford it. Prior to the 2020 updates I might recommend the UPPAbaby Cruz to some parents based on the size and weight being more suitable to their needs, but this is not really the case anymore.
The choice between the UPPababy Vista V2 and the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 comes down to the price.
And the likelihood of needing to convert to a double pram later on.
Because if you do buy the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 then have another baby in 1-3 years and find yourself in a position where you do in fact need a double pram – purchasing the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 turns out to be the far more expensive option.
Whereas the UPPAbaby Vista V2 “pays for itself” in that regard, because it’s essentially two prams in one.
Anything else to consider?
If price is the motivation for looking at the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 – and you’re not fussed with no using a bassinet – but you think there’s a good chance you’ll have another baby sooner rather than later – it might be worth looking at something like the Baby Jogger city select 2.
Ticks similar boxes the the UPPAbaby Cruz V2, in fact it’s lighter weight and often more affordable, but it offered the option of a second seat in a similar seating configuration to the UPPAbaby Vista V2.
