Visiting Myuna Farm

I had NO IDEA Myuna Farm existed! It’s located a little over half an hour South-East of Melbourne CBD and was the most incredible farm experience, with so much to do and see. The kids also learned a lot about animals, being city kids they haven’t seen a lot of animals in real life and seeing as our 4 year old confused a sheep with a cow and ducks with chickens it was probably long overdue that we took them to a farm to explain what everything is!

The entry fee is a reasonable $8 per person or $28 for a family of 4. The train and pony rides are an affordable $3 each and you can bring your own food, so it’s a very budget-friendly day out for the whole family.

There were so many different animals and most of which we were free to pat over the fence or even enter their enclosures for an up close interaction.

The rabbits and guinea pigs were definitely a favourite with my children. They had the most friendly rabbits I’ve ever seen in a petting zoo. They really would just let you pat them for ages and if they hopped off there would be another bunny just itching for some scratching.

I was maybe a little over excited about seeing baby lambs having a feed from their mummas. It really was the sweetest thing to see.

They also had pony rides which was a big hit, my kids had never been on a pony before and they loved it.

Another highlight is the train tour of the farm where we saw pigs, cows emus, horses, and kangaroos!

And if you’re up for a little bit of a walk you can also see their alpacas, deer, sheep, camel and a water buffalo.

They even have a reptile room with lizards, turtles and snakes. One of the snakes was brought out for a visit and a pat which was a great experience as well.

They have great facilities for bringing along a picnic or bbq lunch, otherwise there’s an onsite cafe (that serves reasonably good coffee!)

If the kids need a bit of a play there’s a great playground.

And my kids probably spent most of their time in the maze running around. Excellent way to burn off energy.

If you’re planning a party you can book a private room for you and your guests. These rooms are equipped with a microwave, pie warmer, fridge and seating for both adults and kids, so it’s extremely convenient.

We had a great time and I’m sure we’ll be back!
