LILLEbaby is a brand that has been around since 2001, so while it’s a well-established brand internationally, particularly in the USA, it hasn’t had quite the same presence in Australia. One thing I would recommend immediately to anyone thinking about getting a LILLEbaby carrier is joining the LILLEbaby Facebook Group – at the time of publishing this review the group has nearly 50k members and it is just the most incredible resource for parents looking for support with their LILLEbaby carriers.

It’s this community of parents helping each other fit their carriers correctly and offering each other advice. So when I say “Complete carrier range” I don’t actually mean every single carrier LILLEbaby makes. The “Complete” refers to the fact that they are an all-in-one carrier. LILLEbaby was one of the first innovators that introduced baby carriers that did everything (ie, newborn to toddler and all carry positions)

There are so many carriers in this range. I think the best way to choose the right LILLEbaby carrier for you is to decide which of these factors is the biggest priority for you:

They all work the same way, they all do the same thing, they all tick the same boxes – so choose the carrier that suits your budget, that you like the feel of, or whichever you think is the prettiest!

But if you do want to overthink it, here are 700 words dissecting the differences between all variations of the same carrier. 

LILLEbaby Complete Original “Classic” – RRP $160 

The LILLEbaby Complete Original is the base model LILLEbaby carrier. It is made from 100% cotton and is one of the most affordable, full-featured, soft structured carriers available on the market. If you are looking for a carrier that does everything, is very supportive, can carry your baby from newborn through to toddlerhood, AND offers incredible value for money, this is your carrier. Though I would recommend washing the Complete Original a few times before wearing it because the fabric is quite stiff, but will soften up over time with use (but you can speed up this process by washing them a few times before baby arrives!)

LILLEbaby Complete Original “Premium” – RRP $180

I am personally in love with the current range of colours and patterns. I think they’re fun and pretty and they offer parents something other than the usual blacks and greys that cover most baby products at the moment. The fabric for these carriers is Poly-fabric, rather than 100% Cotton, but I actually prefer the feel of these carriers. The material is a little softer and more flexible than the classic version. Also, Poly-fabrics tend to be more resistant to stains and they dry a lot faster. 

LILLEbaby Complete Airflow – RRP $200

The LILLEbaby Complete Airflow is the lightest, most breathable option in the range, and in my opinion one of the lighter carriers available. It is almost entirely made out of that aerated sports mesh. So it offers “Airflow” as well as sweat-wicking. 

So the Complete Airflow is a great option for summer babies, active parents, or just parents who are concerned about overheating in their carriers! Keep in mind that you can always add extra layers in winter to stay warm, so the Airflow can be used all year round. 

LILLEbaby Complete Airflow “Premium” – RRP $220

There isn’t as much difference between the patterned and plain Complete Airflow carriers as there is between the Original in the fabric type and feel. They’re both made from the same sports mesh- just the limited edition colours and patterns. 

LILLEbaby Complete Airflow DLX – RRP

The Complete Airflow DLX has the softest, more luxurious fabric feel of any carrier in the LILLEbaby range. Though the Complete Airflow DLX doesn’t have quite as much of the sports mesh as the regular Complete Airflow I don’t think it’ll make a meaningful difference in terms of heat retention. I also think the solid fabric on the edges makes the carrier look a bit more polished – but that’s purely a personal preference. 

LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons – RRP $220

The Complete All Seasons is the most popular in the LILLEbaby range because it offers the best of both worlds. There is a breathable mesh panel to allow air through the baby on warmer days, that can be zipped up to keep the baby cozy when it’s a bit chilly. There’s not really much more to say about that – it’s easy to see why this is the option most parents go with because if you use a baby carrier for a year then your baby is both a summer and a winter baby. 

LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons “Premium” – RRP $240

I love that even at the upper end of the LILLEbaby price range this is still a great value carrier. The difference in fabric is the same as the difference between the Complete Original Premium and Classic carriers. Stiffer cotton for the Classic, but softer Poly-based fabric for the Premium. I’m just not quite as into the colour range of the Premium All Seasons. There is a “Leopard” print, but it’s not very “leopardy”. I do quite like the “Salt and Pepper” design, though I have concerns about a white baby carrier. Not because of the baby, but because I would definitely spill something on it.
