Best Prams Australia 2025
Navigating the world of prams can feel like a marathon for new parents, especially in Australia with its diverse terrains and lifestyles. From inner-city commutes to beachside strolls and rugged park adventures, your pram needs to be more than just a set of wheels – it’s your daily companion, a safe haven for your little one, and an essential tool for your family’s adventures. With countless options on the market, finding the best pram for your family can be overwhelming.

I’ve also shown a bit of favouritism towards Australian brands in this list – call it patriotism, but Australia is known for innovation (I mean, we invented Wifi, pacemakers, cochlear implants, Google Maps and the black box flight recorder – so of course, Australian brands are innovating exceptionally good prams and strollers)
Although none of these Australian brands are manufactured in Australia (without looking but with quite a lot of confidence, I’d say they’re all manufactured in China)
To help you find the best pram for your family, I do try to build a lot of information, specs and thoughts into each product analysis, so there is a lot to scroll through. To jump to the pram or category you’re looking for click the hyperlinks below to jump ahead.

Best Single Prams
Don’t need the option of adding on a second seat at some point in the future? Perfect! Check out these popular options below, all offering something a little different to suit a variety of needs and budgets.
Bugaboo Fox 5

The Bugaboo Fox is one of the best single prams if you’re looking for a full featured, full sized pram with a big seat, big basket, big wheels, big suspension, but also don’t want a pram that weighs a tonne.
| Quick features | One hand recline | One hand telescopic handlebar | Leg rest Extends down for longer legs | Bassinet fabric included | Folds with seat or cot forward & rear facing |
| Tech Specs | $1599-2200 | 10.4kgs | 22kgs | 10kgs | 60cm (W)44cm (D)90cm (L) |
Bugaboo Fox Key Features
The Bugaboo Fox 5 is one of the lightest weight full sized, full featured pram on the market and they have managed to do so without compromising on quality you’d expect from a high end pram. This is really the key reason to choose the Bugaboo Fox 5. One of the best prams for parents looking for a lightweight full sized luxury pram.
Things to consider
Personally I don’t think the Bugaboo Fox has the most intuitive fold, so some parents really struggle with it. Also being on the lighter side with a reasonably compact footprint it can feel a bit “bouncy” compared to a heavier pram with a wider base when going over bumps.
Nuna Mixx Next

There’s a lot to like about the Nuna Mixx Next. When I played around with it in the store I enjoyed how intuitive all the mechanisms were. In some ways it’s not exactly an exciting pram, but it’s a lovely pram that is just easy and obvious. It also ticks a lot of boxes for people.
| Quick Features | One hand recline | Two hand telescopic handlebar | Leg rest adjusts up for extra support | Seat newborn ready (flat recline) | Folds with seat forward or parent facing |
| Tech Specs | $1199 | 12.5kgs | 22.7kgs | 4.5kgs | 60cm (W) 42cm (D)76cm (L) |
Nuna Mixx Next Key Features
The Nuna Mixx Next has a reversible seat that reclines flat for a newborn and can be folded fairly compact (given the overall pram size) all in one with the seat forward or parent facing.
Things to consider
The Nuna Mixx is a fairly heavy pram, or at least I’d describe it as feeling quite “dense” when it comes to picking it up. So while you can fold and lift all in one, you might want to test it in store (Note: in Australia Nuna is sold exclusively in Baby Bunting) to make sure it’s going to work for you.
Best single to double convertible prams
Many years ago I heard that on average the Australian household will own 2.3 prams – and after over a decade working in this industry this definitely sounds true, although I have absolutely no idea where this statistic came from.
But it makes sense. You buy a full sized single pram for baby number 1. Then a lightweight stroller for travel or just chucking in the car, and then that .3 of a pram is for those of us who end up also needing to buy a double pram.
However, with the rise of popularity of the single to double convertible prams I have to wonder if that average has gone down.
Either way the single to double style is the best pram for parents wanting the best of both worlds.
UPPAbaby Vista V3

It’s easy to see why the UPPAbaby Vista has been the favourite pram for Australian prams for many years now. They’re aesthetically very pretty and as a brand keep up with (and maybe even set) colour trends. And considered to be easily one of the best prams in Australia.
| Quick Features | One hand seat recline | One hand telescopic handle | Leg rest adjusts up for support | Complete bassinet included | Folds with seat forward facing |
| Tech Specs | Price $1699-2199 | Weight 12.4 kg | Seat Capacity 23kgs | Basket Capacity 13.6kgs | Folded 65cm (W)44cm (D)84cm (L) |
UPPAbaby Vista Key Features
Every button, feature and function on the UPPAbaby Vista V3 is beautifully designed and easy to use. One example of this is the one hand release mechanism on the handle of the cot/bassinet. Such a simple feature, but shows a lot of thought and care went into the product design.
The UPPAbaby Vista comes with the cot and seat included, so you’re ready for newborn to toddler, and then both can be used together to convert to a double. It appears that most stores include the upper adapters needed to convert to double as they can be used to elevate the cot from Day 1 as a single pram. So you’ll just need to purchase lower adapters to attach the cot to the front of the stroller to use as a double.
Things to consider
The second seat, called a “rumble seat”, is smaller than the main seat. So the seats can’t be used interchangeably. Also the UPPAbaby Vista V2 may not be the best double pram for petite parents because you might have trouble seeing over the main seat when it’s elevated on the upper adapters. It’s a good idea to test this out in store with the seat on the upper adapters if you’re a bit shorter and planning to use it as a double pram in the future.
Redsbaby Nuvo
While the Redsbaby Jive has been a great option for quite some time and newer Redsbaby Nuvo has the more popular “cinema style” seating when converted to a double (so both children can see forward) instead of the “stacked style” with the second seat added at the back with their legs in the basket.
From 7:50 onward in the video above it quickly runs through all the optional configurations for the Redsbaby NUVO as a single or double.
| Quick Features | One hand recline | One hand telescopic handle | Legrest adjusts up for support | Bassinet fabric included | Folds with seat forward & rear facing |
| Tech specs | Price$1199 | Weight12kgs | Seat Capacity22kgs | Basket Capacity 12kgs | Folded60cm (W)43cm (D)86cm (L) |
Redsbaby Nuvo key features
The most impressive feature is the fold dimensions are the same whether you’ve folded with the seat forward or parent facing, which is a very desirable feature but is rarely possible to achieve.
Also the main seat/cot position is high and close to the handlebar, similar to the UPPAbaby Vista when using the upper adapters, but the Redsbaby Nuvo doesn’t require upper adapters for this position. Making the redsbaby nuvo one of the best prams for parents wanting to support Australian businesses.
Things to consider:
Redsbaby aren’t sold in stores so it is very difficult to see one in person before purchasing, but they do have demo days across Australia and attend PBC Expo – more information on where to see them in person
ValcoBaby Ark
I highly recommend find a local retailer stocking the Valcobaby Ark and having a good play around with this model because the word versatility gets thrown around a lot but this single to double absolutely blew my mind at the recent PBC Expo in Melbourne.
Skip to 2:30 in the video above to see the seat adjustment up and down! So smooth and impressive!
| Tech Specs | Price $999-$1199 | Weight 13.8 kg | Seat Capacity 23kgs | Basket Capacity 10 kgs | Folded 66cm (W)38cm (D)89cm (L) |
| Quick Features | One hand strap recline | One hand telescopic handlebar | Legrest adjusts up for support | Newborn approved seat – optional bassinet | Folds with seat forward or parent facing |
Valcobaby Ark Key Features
Very similar to the earlier versions of the Icandy single to double styles, the Valcobaby Ark can have the second seat added to the front, or back of the frame, and in a in-line tandem style (same height, one behind the other) or a cinema seating style (back seat sitting higher).

While you won’t be using all the configurations in a single household you will be able to find a couple of configurations that work best for your family depending on the ages and stages of your little ones.
The ValcoBaby Ark is packed with value and features, which is impressive at its RRP $1200 (purchased as a single pram) It includes a beautiful boot cover with a built in mesh bug cover, the sun hood is HUGE and provides nearly complete coverage, and the seat reclines back flat, rather than a bucket style seat, so you don’t need a bassinet to have your little one in a fully reclined position.
Making it one of the best prams for parents looking for big value for money.
Things to consider
It is a relatively new product, so I don’t have a lot of customer reviews to built my thoughts, but Valcobaby as a brand is well loved and trusted. However, it is definitely a budget friendly brand, so it doesn’t quite have the same feel as the higher end options. Still, for nearly half the price of an Uppababy Vista, Bugaboo Donkey or Joolz Geo3 it’s also not trying to compete in the luxury market.
Joolz Geo 3

Compared to the other options I’ve listed above the design of the Joolz Geo 3 is more focused on the functionality as a single pram rather than a double. In fact when I’ve reviewed the Joolz Geo 3 as a double I’ve said that I feel the Joolz Geo 3 is for parents who don’t really want to have a double pram, because it’s a full sized single pram that converts to a very compact double. (Ie the length and size of the pram doesn’t really change when the second seat is added on)
That said, the Joolz Geo 3 in Australia comes with the double kit included so you are able to convert to a double with a cot and seat without any additional purchases.
| Quick Features | One hand recline | Two hand telescopic handlebar | Legrest adjusts up for support | Complete bassinet included | Folds with seat forward facing |
| Tech Specs | Price $1899-2200 | Weight 13kgs | Seat Capacity 22kgs | Basket Capacity 15kgs | Folded 60cm (W)47cm (D)93cm (L) |
Joolz Geo 3 Key Features
Overall I find all the mechanisms easy to use, especially if you’re a little bit uncoordinated. The mesh panels on the seat and cot make it a fantastic pram for summer / warmer climates. Also Joolz now offer a transferable warranty (like a car warranty), use reclaimed plastics in their fabrics and plant a tree for every pram purchased. So the Joolz Geo3 is one of the best prams not just for you but also for the environment.
Things to consider
While it’s great that the Joolz Geo3 is able to go from single to double without really increasing the footprint of the pram is the fact the second seat is added more or less into the basket so you do lose most of your storage and due to the space constraints don’t have the same configuration options as you would with a bigger double pram.
Best Side by Side Double Prams
The biggest benefit of a side by side double pram compared to inline (one behind the other) is maneuverability. They are also typically more affordable when compared to similar quality in the single to double convertible prams. The biggest challenge of course is the reality of having two seats next to each other either means you have a very wide pram, or very narrow seats – and unfortunately there is no amount of innovation, design or money that can change the simple, inescapable, facts:
If you want wide seats you will have to accept a very wide pram.
If you want a narrow pram you will have to accept very narrow seats.
Baby Jogger city tour 2 Double

The city tour 2 double is the lightest weight, most compact, double pram that has two seats that are suitable for newborns. The most impressive story I’ve been told about the city tour 2 double is a family expecting quadruplets purchased 2 x city tour 2 double prams because 7 seater cars typically don’t have a lot of boot space, so this was the most compact option for four newborns.
(And they simply did not plan to ever go out with all four babies without two adults)
| Quick Features | One hand recline | Handlebar not adjustible | Legrest adjusts up for support | Seats approved for newborns | One handed fold |
| Tech Specs | Price $699-899 | Weight 10.5kgs | Seat Capacity 15kgs | Basket Capacity 5kgs | Folded 66cm (W)19cm (D)67cm (L) |
City tour 2 double key features:
The main features of the City Tour 2 Double are both seats are suitable for newborns, easy fold, super lightweight and compact.
Even though this is a great “travel” pram, you likely will still need to check it into oversized luggage when flying, though check this with your airline, you may be able to take it to the gate. The Baby Jogger city tour 2 double is one of the best prams for parents with a big family and only a little space.
Things to consider:
Because the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double is such an incredibly lightweight pram I would suggest it’s probably better for twins than it would be for siblings with a significant age and weight difference, because it does feel off balance and more difficult to steer with more weight on one side than the other.
Baby Jogger city mini GT2 Double
The City Mini GT 2 Double is an easy to use, easy to fold, surprisingly compact, double pram that is suitable for twins or siblings. Both seats lie back flat to be suitable for newborns, while also boasting some of the largest seats for a double pram on the market.
Overall the City Mini GT2 Double is perfect for active parents as it’ll handle a lot of walking and is a great moderately all terrain pram – it’ll definitely handle all the usual suburban terrain such as grass, playground mulch, dirt tracks etc with ease.
| Quick Features | One hand recline | Two hand swivelling handlebar adjustment | Legrest adjusts up for support | Seats approved for newborns | Two handed – one step – fold |
| Tech Specs | Price $1099-1399 | Weight 16kgs | Seat Capacity 22.5kgs | Basket Capacity 5kgs | Folded 75cm (W)34cm (D)81.5cm (L) |
City Mini GT2 Double Key Features
- Quality wheels and all wheel suspension for a smooth ride on suburban terrain
- One of the biggest/tallest double pram seats on the market
- Super simple one step fold that folds flat for easy storage.
- Best prams for long walks with two children
Things to Consider
- Quite heavy one piece fold with no removable seats for lighter lifting weight
- No optional capsule or bassinets. Although the seats are newborn approved.
- Basket is large but not easily accessible for getting in and out larger items.
Valcobaby Slim Twin

Valcobaby is an Australian brand that has been around since 1965 and always produced exceptional and affordable options in side by side double prams, and the newest side by side Double I feel is the perfect solution for parents looking at both the Baby Jogger city tour 2 double and the city mini GT2 Double and wishing they had an option in between.
| Quick Features | One hand strap recline | Handlebar not adjustible | Legrest adjusts up for support | Seats approved for newborns | One handed fold |
| Tech Specs | Price $849 | Weight 16kgs | Seat Capacity 22 kgs | Basket Capacity | Folded 66cm (W)35cm (D)70cm (L) |
Valcobaby Slim Twin Key Features
The Valcobaby Slim twin combines the width of the city tour 2 double, with the weight capacity of the GT2 Double, and with bigger wheels and a bit more robust frame, with a one handed fold.
Additionally the Valcobaby Slim Twin can take two bassinets OR one car capsule – which neither of the Baby Jogger doubles can do anymore/in Australia.
Things to consider
The seat width is still only 26cm which is quite narrow, so even though it has the higher weight capacity, you will find your bigger toddlers will be spilling out the sides of the seats. But this is just the reality of side by side double prams.
Best Travel Strollers
While often referred to as “travel strollers” for most families these become your every day throw-it-in-the-boot-of-the-car stroller. They are rarely a one trip wonder. So it’s important to choose the best travel stroller for your adventures, as well as for your daily life.
Baby Jogger city tour 2

The Baby Jogger city tour 2 is one of the most popular travel strollers in Australia and before the release of the Joolz Aer was my personal favourite travel stroller. However the city tour 2 is my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a mid-range travel stroller (because I understand not everyone is looking to spend $650+ on a stroller!)
| Quick Features | One hand strap recline | Handlebar not adjustible | Legrest adjusts up for support | Seats approved for newborns | One handed fold |
| Tech Specs | Price $449-599 | Weight 6.5kgs | Seat Capacity 20 kgs | Basket Capacity 5kgs | Folded 44cm (W)18cm (D)56cm (L) |
City tour 2 key features
If you’re looking for a lightweight, compact, easy to use, quick fold travel stroller that is also perfect for just throwing in the car for quick errands and zipping around the shops AND had a full recline for newborns or proper naps then the Baby Jogger city tour 2 is for you! It just ticks all the boxes and is available to purchase at almost every baby store in Australia, making it one of the best prams for parents looking for a compact every day stroller.
Things to consider
The city tour 2 is still a compact travel stroller so that means small wheels, not great suspension, it’s not going to give you a smooth ride on all surfaces all day every day. Also some people experience rattling or jiggling in the front wheels, but more often than not this can be resolved by applying a grease lubricant.
Another important consideration is in Australia the city GO capsule is no longer available so the city tour 2 can’t be sold as a full travel solution, and although the seat is newborn approved there is no longer the option of a cot/bassinet, so one of the big things I talked about when the city tour 2 was released in 2019 – having three newborn options – this is no longer a feature with this model, which is a bit disappointing.
Joolz Aer+
While the release of the Joolz Aer2 appears to be a couple of months away, the Joolz Aer+ is still my favourite travel stroller. However, it’s easy for me to recommend this luxury travel stroller when it’s not my money – because premium travel strollers do come with that premium price tag. But in my opinion it’s absolutely worth it (if you can stretch the budget.)
| Quick Features | Two stage zip and strap recline | Handlebar not adjustible | Legrest sold separately | Cot or capsule for newborns | One handed fold |
| Tech Specs | Price $629-799 | Weight 6.4kgs | Seat Capacity 22 kgs | Basket Capacity | Folded 45cm (W)21.5cm (D)53cm (L) |
Joolz Aer+ Key Features
The fold is incredibly easy – folds super compact with one hand and in one smooth motion. With some practice, you can fold to a standing position so you don’t have to bend over to the ground to pick it up.
One feature that is difficult to describe but so important is the Joolz Aer+ has the nicest “pushing experience” of any other travel sized stroller. The first time I pushed one I was genuinely surprised that the Joolz Aer/Aer+ weighs about 6kgs because it has the “presence” of a much bigger pram. It just feels solid, sturdy, well made.
The fabrics, finishes, feel, the 10 year transferable warranty, knowing that the fabrics are made from reclaimed plastics and every Joolz pram/stroller sold they plant a tree – feels like a more premium experience. The Joolz Aer+ is one of the best prams for parents looking for compact luxury.
Things to consider
The Joolz Aer+ in Australia doesn’t have the full newborn recline like the overseas model, so still has the somewhat awkward recline mechanism of the original Joolz Aer, with a zip out back fabric and then the little side strap to adjust the angle.
My understand is this is due to differences in the Australian safety standards compared to other regions so I don’t anticipate the Aer2 will have a full recline for the Australian market either.
