The Baby Joolz city tour 2 and Joolz Aer+ are two of the most popular travel strollers in Australia right now and it is easy to see why. They are both super light, super compact and they both have a sweet and simple one handed fold.
Why I love the Baby Jogger city tour 2
Firstly, the Baby Jogger city tour 2 has a flat recline so you can put a newborn straight into the seat. Otherwise it’s perfect for your older baby or toddler to have a proper nap in the full recline position.
The recline is a simple pull strap and it’s easy to adjust to whatever position your little one wants to be in whether they are laying back, sitting up, or any position in between.
It also has a built-in, easy to use, adjustable leg rest, and that does create quite a comfortable space for your little one to have a nap or just put their legs up to relax.
The Baby Jogger city tour is my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a mid-range travel stroller because it just ticks all the boxes and for a lot of families fits within a reasonable budget.
Things to consider
When compared to the Joolz Aer+ the city tour 2 just doesn’t feel quite as well made, and does have a bit of a rattly sound in the front wheels – though this can be resolved with some grease lubricant. But the Joolz Aer+ is a more premium stroller so it just is a better experience to push.
So if the budget can stretch that little bit further I definitely think it’s worth taking a look at the Joolz Aer+
Why I love the Joolz Aer+
Right at this moment, the Joolz Aer+ is my personal favourite travel stroller. Though it’s easy for me to recommend this luxury travel stroller when it’s not my money – because premium travel strollers do come with that premium price tag. But in my opinion it’s absolutely worth it.
The fabrics, the finishes, the feel; the Joolz Aer+ is just more beautiful and polished when compared to the more affordable city tour 2.
The fold is also a bit easier than the Baby Jogger city tour 2, as it can fold and open with just one using the buttons on the handlebar.
It also has a built-in carry strap making it easy to carry (this was me getting ready to make the Joolz Aer+ vs Joolz Aer video and lugging three Joolz Aer+ at once up the studio with my camera, tripod and everything else. It would be much harder to do this with the city tour 2.
The Aer+ will also take the Joolz Aer+ footboard (which has the option of sitting or standing), so could be your travel stroller for two.

Things to consider
The Joolz Aer+ seat is not suitable for newborns as it doesn’t have a full recline and the recline is probably the only thing I don’t like about this stroller – even though it’s still my top pick of the best travel stroller. Also the leg rest is sold separately and it only comes in the black colour, so I personally wouldn’t buy it unless I had either the Refined Black or maybe the Anthracite Joolz Aer+ because I don’t like how it looks on the lighter colours.

In Conclusion
I think it’s obvious that I think the Joolz Aer+ is the better of the two, however the price difference is something to consider.
If the budget will stretch and you see yourself using a compact travel stroller regularly for quick trips to the shopping centre or running errands where you’re in and out of the car and don’t want to bring a full sized pram, then absolutely it’s worth spending that extra money for what you get.
But if you’re only really planning to use it as a travel stroller – and aren’t going on frequent holidays – and so you’re not going to get a lot of use out of it then the Baby Jogger city tour 2 is still an excellent choice.
It’s my SECOND favourite travel stroller, so in no way am I wanting to discourage anyone choosing the Baby Jogger city tour 2.
Lastly, if not having a flat recline is a deal breaker for you, which would rule out the Joolz Aer+ with its semi-recline position, then the Baby Jogger city tour 2 would be my top recommendation for you.
