Best Double Prams Australia 2024
There really is twice as much to consider when choosing the best double pram for your family. Twice the seats means twice compromise.
The size of double prams is an important consideration. Narrower side-by-side models have smaller seats, while longer in-line designs offer more space between the seats, allowing for greater flexibility in configuration options.
So hopefully this guide will make it easier for you finding the perfect double pram for your family. If you haven’t found what you’re looking for check out all our Best Double Pram Guides for more options.

UPPAbaby Vista V2
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a high-quality, user-friendly pram. Crafted from premium materials, it boasts a sleek, attractive design. Its intuitive features make it one of the simplest and easiest prams to use. With a one-handed seat recline, adjustable shoulder straps, and a tap-to-engage foot brake, the Vista V2 prioritises convenience. An extendable sun canopy and generous storage basket round out its family-friendly functionality. In short, this pram checks all the boxes for modern parents seeking a stylish, practical solution.
The UPPAbaby Vista does have limited configurations. The bassinet can only go on the front of the frame in double mode, and then the rumble seat also must go on the front of the stroller. Which means your younger child will sit at the front and your older child must sit at the top. I do know that is a drawback for some parents.
Key Features
- Aesthetically beautiful stroller with a wide range of on trend fabrics and styles
- Thoughtfully designed with every mechanism and feature easy to use.
- Comes with a full styles, luxury bassinet included (that can be used with the seat as a double)
Things to Consider
- In double mode the bassinet MUST be at the front/lower position.
- Second seat (Rumble Seat) is smaller with a lower weight limit.
- Can be quite pricey if purchasing for twins, because you’ll need to add on an extra seat and bassinet, plus upper and lower adapters.

Baby Jogger city select 2
The Baby Jogger City Select 2’s ability to accommodate newborns without requiring a bassinet, kit, insert, or liner is a major advantage. This versatility allows the seat to be used from birth through the toddler years, eliminating the need for additional purchases. This feature also makes the Select 2 more cost-effective compared to similar strollers, such as the UPPAbaby Vista, especially for parents expecting twins.
Also this allows more flexibility with which child sits where. With the option to even switch them up through the day depending on what’s working best for you.

Key Features
- Both seats are approved for newborns and are the same size and weight capacity
- Lightweight and compact (for a full size, full featured double pram)
- Can take one or two capsules, perfect for siblings or twins.
Things to consider
- While the seats meet Australian safety standards for newborns they are not fully flat like a bassinet.
- The city select 2 can only accommodate one bassinet but won’t fit two.
- To produce a lighter weight stroller there is less suspension compared to an UPPAbaby Vista V2,

Babybee Prams Duo2
Babybee Prams is an Australian owned brand, based in Melbourne and I have had the pleasure of meeting their team a few times – and they don’t just have great prams, like the Babybee Duo2 but they are absolutely lovely people as well.
The Babybee Duo2 offers versatile configuration options. Customers can choose a single or double setup, and with the double, they can select either two seats or a seat plus a bassinet. This flexibility is great, as not every family needs or wants a bassinet – for example, if you’re purchasing a second stroller for older children over 6 months, or planning to use an infant car seat instead.
Babybee Prams Duo2 Key Features
- Supporting Australian own business
- Reasonably affordable full featured double stroller.
- You get EVERYTHING you need in one purchase – as well as some handy accessories! (2 x seat liners, 2 x rain covers, 2 x UV covers, 2 x belly bars and a parent organiser)
- Many configurations as both single and double, with seats, bassinets and capsules.
Things to consider
- Babybee isn’t in retail stores so you don’t have the opportunity to go into a store and test out before you purchase.
- The seats are a bit on the shorter side, though still should accommodate most children up to 2-3years.

Steelcraft Strider Signature V5
The Steelcraft Strider Signature V5 has been around in one form or another for quite some time. In fact I owned the original version of this stroller about 12 years ago! Although there have been many aesthetic updates in that time not a lot has changed with the overall design.
The Steelcraft Strider proved to be a fantastic pram for families with a larger age gap between children. The compact second seat doesn’t take up much space, making it easy to keep attached even when the older child insists on walking to and from the playground (and then predictably they’re too worn out for walk home!)
Steelcraft Strider Signature V5 Full Review
Steelcraft Strider Signature V5 Key Features
- Compact footprint and easy to manoeuvre with weight distribution over the rear wheels.
- Britax Bassinet adapters are compatible with Britax capsules, so it’s very convenient for parents wanting to easily switch from cot to capsule.
- Both seats are approved for newborns, so super simple for twins or siblings.
- Reasonably affordable for a full featured double pram.
Things to consider
- Limited configurations due to the compact size.
- A lot of reviews suggest the pram can be quite noisy (squeaking and creaking)
- Only sold through Baby Bunting which can mean less competitive price (because there is no competition)

Joolz Geo 3
I feel like the Joolz Geo3 is a fantastic double pram for someone who doesn’t really want a double pram. You want a pram that’s not too wide, or too long, or too tall BUT you do need to get two kids in a pram somehow! AND you still want your pram to feel solid and easy to manoeuvre when you’re pushing it.
The Joolz Geo3 may not be the ideal double pram for everyone. However, if you have a bit bigger age gap between your children and don’t require a double pram full-time, or if you lead an urban lifestyle and need a more compact option that won’t take up too much space – then the Joolz Geo3 could be your perfect double pram.
Joolz Geo 3 Key Features
- Compact footprint and easy to manoeuvre with weight distribution over the rear wheels.
- Easy to use fold, recline and seat release mechanisms.
- Very breathable seat and cot with mesh panels through the base and hood.
- Joolz offer lifetime warranty, use reclaimed plastics in their fabrics, and also for every pram sold plant a tree in their “birth forest” to fight deforestation.
Things to Consider
- When you add on the second seat you more or less lose the basket entirely.
- Can be a bit confusing (and costly) adding on a second seat as each part is sold separately.
- Just launched in Australia February 2023 – so limited retailers (and information) at this stage.
- Because it is a very compact double pram there isn’t a lot of space between the two seats,

Baby Jogger city tour 2 Double
The city tour 2 double is easily one of the lightest weight, most compact, double pram that has two seats that are suitable for newborns.
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double is an exceptionally lightweight and compact double stroller, making it well-suited for twins. However, it may feel off-balance and difficult to steer if used for siblings with a significant age or weight difference, as the uneven distribution of weight can impact maneuverability.
Even though this is a great “travel” pram, you likely will still need to check it into oversized luggage when flying, though check this with your airline, you may be able to take it to the gate.

Baby Jogger city tour 2 Double Key Features
- Super compact and lightweight with an incredibly easy fold.
- Seats fully recline, and seats are newborn approved – with the option of one or two bassinets.
- Great for shopping centres and travel
Things to Consider
- While great for travel the city tour 2 double IS NOT carry on sized. While it’s worth double checking with your airline, you will likely need to check it in with your luggage
- The narrow design means the seats are quite narrow and the weight capacity is only 15kgs per seat.
- Small wheels and lightweight design means it’s not great for everyday walking and definitely not for all terrain.

Mountain Buggy Duet
The Mountain Buggy Duet is an exceptionally narrow side-by-side pram, measuring just 63cm wide – the same width as a standard single pram. While this compact design makes the Duet easy to maneuver, it also results in slightly narrower seats. As a result, the Duet may be best suited for more petite toddlers.
This all-terrain pram offers versatility – it can be used as a single stroller or converted to a double by swapping the “Joey bag” for a second seat. This makes it a great option for twins or growing families. The pram is also exceptionally sturdy, with air tires, a large storage basket, generous hoods, and excellent maneuverability. Additionally, it features a hand brake for controlling your speed.

- Can be converted to a single by swapping one seat for a bag

Baby Jogger GT2 Double
The City Mini GT 2 Double is a versatile, double pram designed with convenience and comfort in mind. Its easy-to-use, compact, and fold-friendly design makes it suitable for twins or siblings. Additionally, the pram’s roomy seats can accommodate newborns, as they recline fully flat, while still offering some of the largest seat dimensions in the double pram category.
The City Mini GT2 Double is an excellent choice for active parents. Its moderately all-terrain design allows it to handle a variety of suburban surfaces, such as grass, mulch, and dirt tracks, with ease. This stroller is well-suited for long walks, making it a great option for parents with an active lifestyle.

Bugaboo Donkey5
The Bugaboo Donkey is impressive and innovative in the way the frame actually expands to accommodate two children side by side. That said, even in “mono” mode (single mode) it’s still a very wide pram. Though the little shopping basket on the is a nice way to add value to the extra width.
The Bugaboo Donkey is one of the few side-by-side double strollers that allows you to position your babies facing you, facing away, or with one facing you and the other facing away – a feature I absolutely love.
Impressively it can also fold with both seats attached, however it is a bulky pram folded in one piece. So you will really want to take both seats off and lift in three pieces.
Bugaboo Donkey5 Key Features
- Seats can be turned parent or forward facing
- One of the only side by side strollers that takes one or two capsules
- Stroller frame adjusts wider and narrower from single to double mode
Things to Consider
- Despite being a wider double pram the seats are quite narrow
- Fold is bulky whether in single or double mode
- Can be confusing when adding on second seats and cannot be purchased without the bassinet.

Thule Urban Glide 2 Double
Thule Urban Glide 2 Double is a running pram that does have a lockable swivel wheel so it’s still going to be manoeuvrable for everyday strolling. But it’s still a great pram for serious running! It has a 30cm front air tyre and 40cm air tyres at the back so you’ll “glide” along with this pram. As well as a handy hand-brake (sorry I think I’m funny) so you can control your speed, especially running on hills.
Although the seat lays back flat for newborns do keep in mind you can’t run with infants under 9-12months.
Thule Urban Glide Double 2 Key Features
- Thule are known for their high impact, high performance running prams for serious runners.
- Sleek design and surprisingly lightweight for a double running pram.
- One of the few side by side doubles that can take a capsule
Things to Consider
- I don’t recommend buying any running pram unless you actually plan to run with it.
- Canopy sits quite low (common on running strollers to minimise resistance)
- Not recommended to run until baby is 6+ Months
