Best Travel Strollers 2021
We have found the best travel strollers 2021 to make your stroller shopping easier! Ticking all the boxes – light, compact, easy to fold – everything you need!
I know that 2021 is not the year for air travel, however, that doesn’t mean travel strollers aren’t still extremely convenient to have for quick trips to the shop, or road trips – which many parents have been opting for when holidaying with their families. While most of these travel strollers were designed specifically to fit the overhead luggage compartment on a plane, that means they also won’t take up much room in your car or house.

Joolz Aer
The Joolz Aer is a high end, luxury travel stroller. The fabric, features, functions and overall quality of this stunning stroller puts the Joolz Aer in a league of its own.
The Joolz Aer has been designed to be light and compact enough to fit in the overhead luggage on a plane. Meaning when you travel you will have your stroller right up until you board the plane. Which is fantastic if you’re expecting stopovers – or if you just prefer to keep your stroller close to avoid it getting lost or damaged in checked luggage.
This sweet little stroller isn’t just for travel, it’s perfect for inner-city and suburban lifestyle as well. The Joolz Aer is lovely to push and has surprisingly effective suspension and an overall sturdy feel despite the tiny size. So It’s great for zipping around busy footpaths and shopping centres, hopping off and on public transport, or popping into the boot of your car.
While the Joolz Aer seat is suitable from 6 months+, it does have a semi-recline position for naps. It also has newborn options of either adding a car capsule or bassinet.

Baby Jogger Tour 2
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 has featured in the Best Prams for 2021 as well as the best Travel Strollers and also has been reviewed in detail following this link. Lastly you can watch our video review here. So it’s fair to say that we are big fans of this little stroller!
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is suitable from birth without needing extra accessories (though it has the option of adding a car capsule or bassinet, which are sold separately). It has a very tall seat and a high weight limit to match. You can easily use the City Tour 2 from birth to preschool aged and beyond!
It also offers a good sized adjustable footrest which is a feature you don’t often see on these super light travel strollers. Lastly, I do love the super easy one handed fold. It wouldn’t be a Baby Jogger without an incredibly easy fold.
Overall I think it’s a very practical, sturdy and easy to use compact pram that would be perfect not just for travel, but everyday use as well.

Babyzen Yoyo 2
The Babyzen Yoyo has been the most popular travel stroller, and compact everyday pram, for so many parents. I would say that the Babyzen Yoyo 2 isn’t exactly a completely new pram, but more a refinement of the previous model. Overall the Babyzen Yoyo is incredibly light and compact, easy to push, comfortable little stroller that offers parents a huge range of colours and accessories to customise their stroller just the way they like it. The fold does take some practice, but it’s quick and easy when you get the hang of it. It’s easy to see why the Babyzen Yoyo + has been such a popular brand.

Mountain Buggy Nano
The Mountain Buggy Nano is another very popular travel stroller – and full confession it’s not my favourite travel stroller to write about. HOWEVER, it is on the list for a very good reason. It does still tick a lot of boxes parents are looking for in a travel stroller.
So what does it do? It’s light, compact, quick and easy to fold – as you’d expect from a travel stroller. It’s a two handed fold, but easy enough. It does have a good sized hood for a travel stroller and a reasonable basket, which has good accessibility from all sides. The Mountain Buggy Nano doesn’t have a newborn flat recline, but it is infant car capsule compatible and does offer the option of a newborn seat sold separately. You do have to remove the wheels for it to fit into its travel bag, but it does come with it’s travel bag included so that’s a plus.
The Mountain Buggy Nano definitely does it’s job. And it’s a comfortable mid-range price tag for a reasonable travel stroller.

Bugaboo Ant
There’s nothing like a Bugaboo” – has been the Bugaboo slogan for years, and there really is nothing like a Bugaboo Ant. The Bugaboo Ant is the smallest pram that has a modular seat – meaning parent can have their baby turned world or parent facing. The seat also lays back completely flat, so it’s suitable for newborns. Also it’s very cleverly designed to pack down to look like a hard luggage case, which can be towed along through the airport with ease.
As expected, the Bugaboo Ant can be styled to parent’s unique taste, by choosing the chassis colour and fabric colours. And of course loads of accessories to choose from as well.
The seat on the Bugaboo Ant is a little on the smaller side though. So while it’s an amazing pram for travelling with a newborn or younger baby, it may be less suitable for larger toddler or preschooler. That said, it does also have a great ride on toddler board option for travelling with two.

Maxi Cosi Lara
The Maxi Cosi Lara is my favourite travel pram for someone on a tight budget, while still offering some great extra features. Keep in mind with the price it can be often found on sale for under $300.
Like the Stroll Lite, the Maxi Cosi Lara has a simple one handed fold, is suitable for a newborn, a good sized seat with a reasonable weight capacity of 17kgs. However it also has the bellybar and travel bag included, as well as an adjustable footrest and all round nicer finishes on the fabric and frame. The other thing I love about the Maxi Cosi Lara is it has a second “shelf” inside the basket that is still accessible when the pram is folded. So it’s perfect for storing essential items when you’re on the go – like a drink bottle, comforter, baby wipes etc. Items that you want accessible at all times.
Though please note that even though this is a Maxi Cosi pram it is not compatible with Maxi Cosi (or any other) car capsules.

GB Pockit “All Terrain”
Firstly, don’t let the name fool you. This pram isn’t an all-terrain pram. The only way the GB Pockit could be considered “All-terrain” is the fact that it is so light and compact if you do hit some rough terrain you could fold it down, carry the pram in one arm and the baby in the other. Perhaps that what they mean!
The GB Pockit Air All-Terrain is the world’s most compact pram. It’s completely ridiculously compact. It folds down small enough it could fit into a canvas shopping bag. It is the one pram I would very confidently say is carry on luggage compatible without suggesting you contact the airline first, because it truly is smaller than most carry on luggage bags.
However the GB Pockit is a bit of a one-trick pony. It has it’s world record breaking compact fold and not a lot else going for it. The seat doesn’t recline, the hood is only for decorations, as implied above it’s only really suitable for flat surfaces – shopping centres, airports, footpaths etc. So while it’s absolutely ideal for occasions where your number one concern is space, it’s not the stroller for everyone as it’s really only suitable for older babies and toddlers.
You can also check out my video review of the older version of this pram.

Redsbaby Skip
Redsbaby is a very popular Australian owned brand sold exclusively through Redsbaby directly – so you won’t find this stroller in stores – however Redsbaby, including the Skip, have developed themselves quite a following among Australian parents. The Redsbaby Skip ticks all the usual boxes for an ideal travel stroller – light, compact, easy to fold, suitable for newborns straight into the seat, it has an adjustable footrest and a good sized for a small stroller. The canopy is generous as are the included accessories. When you purchase a Redsbaby Skip it included a cup holder and footmuff, which isn’t something you see with other travel strollers. As well as including a carry bag which is essential if you’re wanting to use this stroller for air travel.
